Michael Brun Unites Many Generations of Haitian Artists on this Inspiring Track
Right in time for Karnaval! Michael Brun just released a new video for the song “GAYA” in collaboration with fellow Haitian artists J. Perry and Lakou Mizik.
GAYA, which means Healing, is a all about unity and positivity and bringing people together. When asked about the message behind the song in an interview, Michael Brun said:
“Gaya means healing and the song is asking the different parts of the country to come together in order to heal and move forward. I think it’s a message that not only applies to Haiti but so many places around the world right now. Change comes through community and understanding each other. It was also really that both the song and video were produced and created in Haiti.”
The song is available for purchase. All proceeds from “Gaya” support the Artists Institute in the city of Jacmel (Haiti), a scholarship-based vocational school where Michael Brun and collaborator Lakou Mizik first met. The Artists Institute of Jacmel focuses on disadvantaged youth, teaching them skills in music production and film making.

Michael Brun also took the time to create a nice Haitian music playlist on Spotify for you to vibe to. A la bonne heure!!
